Any Questions? answers charity's call

ONE of the UK's best known radio programmes will visit Worthing next month thanks to a local charity.

Radio 4's Any Questions? will be at the Northbrook College Theatre, in Littlehampton Road, on November 24.

The popular show has been broadcast almost uninterrupted since October, 1948, and is currently chaired by journalist and broadcaster, Jonathan Dimbleby.

Questions are submitted to the show's producers by the audience shortly before broadcast and a selection are then discussed by a panel, which often includes celebrated politicians, writers and thinkers.

The appearance of the show in Worthing was arranged by Maureen Gee, chair of Durrington Friends of St Barnabas and a big fan.

She said: "I heard there was one down in the west country and they were raising awareness for a children's hospice. I thought 'if they can do that, I can jolly well do it.'

"We were on the list for about a year but at long last we've got it."

Volunteers from the charity will collect donations after the broadcast.

Tickets are free but limited and are only available on a first-come, first-served basis from 01903 691888.
