£20,000 theft from highways store

Around £20,000 worth of equipment was stolen in a raid on an East Sussex Highways building in Ninfield Road.

The break-in took place over the weekend from Friday November 12 to Sunday November 14 when the crime was discovered.

It seems a fence was cut to allow entry to the site and once inside the thieves broke into eight containers, stealing electrical equipment and cutting gear.

It is thought a number of people and probably a vehicle would have been needed to remove the equipment.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area over that weekend or has any other information to contact 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 995 of 14/11.
