Arun tenantgroup seeksmore voices

Young council tenants around Bognor Regis are being encouraged to come forward and suggest how their homes and estates can be improved.

The call comes from town resident Mary Lockwood after her re-election as the chairman of the Arun Tenants and Leaseholders Organisation at its annual meeting.

Mary has chaired the group of council tenants and leaseholders who have volunteered to get together to raise issues that affect them for the past two years. Persuading more members to join is one of her main priorities.

She said: 'At Arun, tenants and leaseholders are encouraged to express their opinions and the ATLO is one of the main ways the housing service consults its customers.

'But the organisation needs young members and more members generally and this will be a focus for the next 12 months.'

ATLO is the umbrella organisation for tenants and residents across the district and has been running for more than seven years.

There are more than 100 members but Arun District Council has around 4,000 tenants and leaseholders.
