AFTERNOON BOOK GROUP: The afternoon book group are next meeting today, November 28, 2pm. October’s book is “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak. Death is the narrator of this story, set in Nazi Germany. It’s the story of the inhabitants of Himmel Street, especially of nine year old Liesel living with a foster family, who steals books. WREATH MAKING: Ashbburnham Place are holding a Christmas wreath making workshop on November 29, 9.30 a.m. - 1 p.m., at Ashburnham Place. Jim and Jay from the Garden Team will shoe you hoe to make a beautiful Christmas wreath for your front door. All materials and refreshments are included in the cost of £20 per person. P.A.N.T.S: Penhurst and Ashburnham New Theatrical Society (P.A.N.T.S.) presents Sleeping Beauty at Ashburnham Cillage Hall. Performances will be on: Friday November 28 and Saturday November 29 at 7.30 p.m. There will also be an afternoon performance on the Saturday at 2.30 p.m. Tickets go on sale on November 1 costing £7/adult, £3/child. MOBILE LIBRARY: The East Sussex County Council Mobile Library service will next be in Ashburnham (by the chapel) on Thursday, December 4 & 18, 9.50 a.m. - 10.10 a.m.

CHRISTMAS FAYRE: Ashburnham & Penhurst WI are holding their annual Christmas Fayre on Saturday, December 6. This will be held at Ashburnham Village Hall, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. There will be local produce, seasonal stalls and a raffle along with WI refreshments and much more.
