ELDERLY people were given a Holiday at Home by members of the Beulah Baptist Church last week.

From Monday through to Friday afternoon participants enjoyed coffee, lunch and afternoon tea at the church hall.

Activities included quizes, massages, gentle exercises, sing-a-longs and beetle drives, to name a few.

Cream tea was served at church members' homes on Monday while on Wednesday everyone boarded a coach and went on a daytrip to Bodiam.

There was concert by Beulah members on the final day.

Gerald Philpott, a member of Beulah, was thrilled to see everyone have such a good time.

He said: "All the helpers got a great thrill seeing the folk enjoying themselves and many have expressed the hope that this will become and annual event.

"There are many elderly people who don't get away on holiday so we though we could do something.

"Thanks to all those who contributed, especially Marilym Munnery and Jenny Betts."

The combined ages of the people who attended was 2244, with an average age of 81.

Mr Philpott was keen to stress that residents do not have to be a member of Beulah to attend.
