Bognor Regis worshippers have a new place to meet

Members of a growing church have a new place of worship in Bognor Regis.

The King’s Gate Church will meet in The Regis School’s main hall from Sunday (December 4).

They want to reflect the fact the new school campus with its Phoenix Centre and Arena sports centre has become a community hub.

Ben Leney, the church’s co-pastor, has been co-ordinating the move. “I am very excited about what this means for the church,” he said.

“We will be running a full children’s programme on a Sunday morning and welcome anyone to come and visit, whether they used to go to church or whether they are simply curious.”

The church has some 70 members after a recent growth.

Their usual services start with tea or coffee at 10.15am with worship from 10.30am.

They will hold their carol service at the Westloats Lane school at 6.30pm on December 18.

School business and community manager Mark Betts said the latest use for the £39m school buildings with the Sunday opening meant more groups could book and use the modern facilities.

The church has worshipped around Bognor for 40 years. The past two have been spent at the Rowland Rank Centre.
