BREAKING NEWS: 18-year-old woman raped near Worthing Pier

POLICE are appealing for information after an 18-year-old woman was raped near a Worthing nightclub at the weekend.

Police say the victim was outside the Pier nightclub on Worthing Pier at around 2am on Friday, November 13, when she was approached by three men.

They spoke to her and she started to walk back inside when one of them grabbed her.

Police said the man then led the victim off the pier while his two friends looked on.

Despite the woman protesting that she did not want to go with him, the man forced her to a covered seating area on the seafront where he raped her, police said.

The attacker is described as being white, aged about 20, taller then 5ft 3in, medium build, with dark hair and wearing dark clothing.

One of the friends of the attacker is described as also being white, aged about 20, with blond hair and wearing jeans and a white top.

Police are keen to trace the two other men who engaged the victim in conversation on the pier or any other witnesses who can provide any information that may assist this investigation.

Acting Detective Sergeant Mark Williams: "As a result of this incident, the young woman and her family have been left feeling devastated. I would urge anyone who knows anything to come forward."
