BREAKING NEWS: Worthing betting shop robbed by knifeman

A KNIFE-WIELDING robber stole £2,000 from a town centre betting shop.

The robbery took place at MetroBet, in Montague Street, at 4.40pm on Sunday (November 15).

A man walked into the shop and threatened a cashier with a knife before taking the cash and walking out.

Several customers watched in horror as the robbery took place but none are believed to be involved.

The robber, who made off on foot, is described as white, aged in his 30s, wearing a grey beanie hat, lighter grey scarf, green two-tone anorak-style jacket, blue jeans and black shoes.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed anything suspicious should call Worthing police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting Serial 1194 of 15 November.
