Car crime rises over Bank Holiday

BEXHILL Police are investigating several car-related crimes in the town, reported over the Bank Holiday weekend.

It is not known if the incidents were linked, but police would like to hear from anyone with information about any of them.

Overnight on Friday, April 30 to Saturday, May 1 a Vauxhall Vivaro van parked in Cooden Drive, Bexhill, had its tyres slashed.

During the same period a Jaguar S-type saloon had scratches gouged into its bonnet and wings while it was parked in Wilton Road, Bexhill.

Sometime between May 1 and 2 a Renault Twingo parked in Constable Way, Bexhill, had a wing mirror torn off.

And shortly after midnight on Monday four youths were disturbed and ran off after apparently trying to break into a car in Oakfield Way, Bexhill.

A police patrol later stopped and questioned a group of youths nearby. Enquiries are continuing.
