Charity walkers set to show off their wild side

PRETTY in pink, these four Bexhill friends aim to take part in the London Moonwalk marathon on Saturday, May 14 and have been training hard for the 26.2 mile slog through the city's streets, which starts an hour before midnight.

The event is organised by Walk the Walk, a breast cancer charity that evaluates and funds projects aimed at defeating the disease and supporting those who already have it.

Angela Hurry, a spokeswoman for the Bexhill quartet, said: “This year’s theme is A Walk On The Wild Side, so we will be wearing leopard-print bras and tutus, together with sleeves and leg-warmers, and have dubbed ourselves the Walking Wildcats.”

The team undertook a 20-mile training walk along Bexhill seafront last weekend and hopes it may prompt sponsors to come forward or donate to their fund-raising effort on-line at: http://www.walkthewalkfundraising.org/walking_wildcats

Angela’s team-mates for the walking marathon are Tash Mitchell, Amanda Carey and Sue Saunders.
