Churches Together special prayers week

CHURCHES Together In Bexhill will be holding special prayer and reflection sessions at different venues in and around the town from Tuesday next week, January 18, until Tuesday, January 25 to mark an annual worldwide week of prayer for Christian unity

Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI) promote the theme for the week, which this year comes from an ecumenical group in Jerusalem who live under much pressure.

Local meetings are: Tuesday, January 18, 11am - Society of Friends (Quakers), Albert Road, Bexhill; Wednesday, January 19, 11.30am - Little Common Methodist Church, Church Hill Avenue, Bexhill; Thursday, January 20 at 2.30pm - St Mary’s Church, Ninfield.

Friday, January 21, 11am - Our Lady of the Rosary, Southlands Rd, Sidley; Saturday, January 22, 9.30am - United Reformed Church, Cantelupe Road, Bexhill; Monday 24 at 10am - St Barnabas Church, Sea Rd, Bexhill (together with Servants with Jesus)

The week ends with a united service at Sackville Road Methodist Church, Bexhill, on Tuesday, January 25 at 7pm at which Kieran Conry, the Catholic Bishop for this diocese, will preach.

The presiding minister will be the Reverend Peter Timms, chairman of Churches Together in Bexhill.
