College's £41m dream for the future given go ahead

WORTHING Sixth Form College hopes to become one of the best in the country after planners approved its multi-million-pound redevelopment scheme.

It will see a new 41m college with 124 residential dwellings that will help fund the development in Bolsover Road.

Principal Peter Corrigan was delighted with the decision, saying: "It's been a long, long time. It's taken a lot of years to get here but it now seems we can develop a fantastic facility here for young people in Worthing.

"We want to become one of the best colleges in the country and it really gives us major support to do that.

"I think the most important thing is we can now provide the facilities that people really want and deserve and up until now we have really struggled to provide that. Now young people can get the best of everything in Worthing."

Mr Corrigan said far too many youngsters were leaving Worthing and seeking education elsewhere.
