The March meeting of Rose Green WI was opened by president Margaret Roberts who welcomed members and introduced speaker, Peggy Weeks.

Mrs Weeks gave a remarkable talk entitled '˜To Russia with love'.

Although she made this journey alone, she made many friends and found the Russian people charming and very helpful.

She concluded her epic journey by traveling on the Trans- Mongolian railway to Beijing from where she flew home.

Mrs Weeks' fascinating, and at times hilarious, rendition of her adventures was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The vote of thanks was given by Joan Wells.

Ivy Harding gave an informative account of the recent '˜Evening with Simon Weston' at the Hawth Theatre, Crawley, and recommended members to see him speak.
