Councillor loses job

Mike Coleman, the West Sussex County Councillor for Nyetimber has been sacked from his role as deputy leader of the county council. Mr Coleman, 57, lost his job in a reshuffle of the cabinet last Friday.

Although the Tory county councillor had no comment to make on the reshuffle he said he was "disappointed because I enjoyed the role very much and I hope I brought my skills to bear."

The former cabinet member responsible for health, the 2012 Olympics, arts and heritage, libraries and records offices also loses his 20,672 allowance for his responsibilities as deputy.
