Crash in Ninfield Road

Three people were hurt in a dramatic collision in Ninfield Road which caused a car to flip over and land on its side.

The accident took place just after 10am on Saturday at the crossroads with Freezeland Lane and St Mary's Lane and was attended by fire crews from Bexhill station as well as Sussex Police.

One of the injured needed attention before being taken away by ambulance, while the two other people involved waited in a nearby house.

The cars were a silver Renault Clio which appeared to have turned from Freezeland Lane and a blue Honda which was travelling along Ninfield Road.

A group of visitors from the camping and caravan club at St John's Ambulance arrived at the scene almost immediately.

One couple from Guildford said they heard a loud bang and had seen the car flip over.

Owen Wright from Sutton in Surrey helped direct traffic until police officer arrived and took over, and he said: "I heard the bang, and saw the car roll on its side."

Further up the road Tim Jenner of Wadhurst had stopped to help direct traffic and keep the scene safe until emergency services arrived.
