Daylight attacker sought

A DAYLIGHT attack on a young man as he was walking to work in Bexhill last Saturday morning, June 30, has sparked a hunt for the assailant by local police.

The 24-year-old was attacked by another man in Third Avenue, Pebsham, at around 11am. He suffered bruising to his head and a black eye.

His attacker is described as a white man, aged 26 or 27, 6ft 3ins tall, of stocky build and with short shaved black hair. He was wearing shorts, a white zip-up hooded top and white trainers.

Police believe the assault may have been witnessed by the occupants of a small silver motor car, being driven by a woman with a male passenger who spoke with the victim.

PC Rob Fagg said: “This was an unprovoked assault in broad daylight. I am keen to trace any witnesses, and in particular the occupants of the silver vehicle.”
