Eastbourne retailer backs down after recent dispute

A controversial application to put tables and chairs outside of a coffee shop in Eastbourne has been scrapped.

Starbucks, in Terminus Road, has withdrawn plans, submitted to Eastbourne Borough Council, to put customer-use tables and chairs in the pedestrianised high street.

Starbucks’ neighbours, Specsavers, opposed the application when it was submitted in September.
