ELDERLY WOMAN DIES FROM CRASH INJURIES

A woman has died from the injuries she received in a road accident in Seaford last November.

At 10.31 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2005, a road traffic collision happened on the A259, Sutton Park Road at Seaford. The collision involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. The vehicle was a red VW Transporter driven by a 64 year old man from Lewes.

The pedestrian was Dora Winfield, aged 98, from Alfriston Park in Seaford.

Mrs Winfield was taken to hospital with a broken ankle. Sadly, she never left hospital and died from complications related to her injuries on January 25.

The VW driver was uninjured in the collision.

Sussex Police are not appealing for witnesses, partly as witnesses were seen at the time, and partly owing to the time delay. However, if any further witnesses become evident, naturally we would be glad to hear from them.

The officers dealing with the investigation are Sgt Niall Moloney, and Sgt Kevin Donovan, who can both be contacted at East Sussex Road Policing Base on 01323 414054
