End to A27 road hell remains a distant dream

Multi-million pound improvements for the A27 round Chichester could be implemented by 1016, but it could be more than ten years before an Arundel bypass is considered and a bypass for Worthing is not even an option for the next 20 years.

The big question mark hanging over what will happen over other sections of the traffic-choked road at Arundel, Worthing and Lancing emerged at a county council meeting on Friday.

Councillors heard that a new report, due to be considered by the Regional Transport Board on October 27, spelled out the latest situation.
