Pupils at a Lindfield school were excited to be visited by an England Rugby International.

Andy Gomarsall MBE went to Great Walstead school in East Mascalls Lane to talk to students about his sporting career and to inspire the next generation of sporting stars.

“The school has created a strong programme of rugby and is developing a number of talented pupils and teams.

“Great Walstead is making great strides in a variety of sports and having players and coaches that have played at the top level to talk to the pupils and share their experiences is fantastic.”

Andy has 35 caps for his country and has participated in three England world cup campaigns.

He has played more than 200 times in the English Premiership and since the early nineties has represented Bath, Wasps, Worcester, Bedford, Gloucester, Harlequins and Leeds.

He was also a commentator in ITV’s coverage of the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
