Birdwatch at RSPB Pulborough Brooks

As I write this, it is pouring. The view of the Downs from the visitor centre has disappeared under a grey sheet of rain driving up the Arun Valley.

After a warm September, things have suddenly turned very autumnal. Grateful we are for the rain after such a dry year.

Hopefully the river will stay within its floodbanks and the rain will create a few pools on the books and create some ideal feeding conditions for various species of duck.
