Birling Gap café will reopen at its new location tomorrow (January 11). It can be found in another section of the existing building, further away from the cliff edge.

A sign at the café said: “Birling Gap cafe is moving into the visitors centre in January 2023, due to cliff erosion. We appreciate your patients with us whilst we adapt to our new layout.”

Birling Gap remains closed (January 10) due to rockfall. Peacehaven had a cliff fall on January 1. East Sussex sees around 50 cliff falls a year.
