East Sussex County Council has put out a warning to people about staying safe around the cliffs.

A statement from the council said, “If you’re heading out for a coastal walk this weekend, stay away from cliff edges and bases.”

The statement goes on to reveal in the last year there has been 50 cliff falls in East Sussex alone due to chalk breaking away from the cliffs and falling onto the beaches or into the sea.

This comes after ‘significant’ cliff fall at Birling Gap and coastguards warning of an ‘actively moving cliff’ at Seaford Head in the last few weeks.
