Foxglove- Predator's instincts come to play in rabbit hunt

Spring is well and truly with us, though the blackthorn was late and suffered much from the storms.

Baby rabbits and baby nettles put paid to most of the last of my ferreting and heavy rain did for the rest, with so many rabbit buries flooded out.

As I walked the footpaths with the dogs, I saw signs where rabbits had been fighting: great chunks of fur kicked out and scuffmarks in the mud, for rabbits fight fiercely, using their teeth and strong hindlegs.
