Firefighters rise to fundraising challenge

TEAMS of West Sussex firefighters raised more than £1,100 for charity by taking part in a sponsored ladder climb in Chichester.

Conpeting against the clock in teams of four, each team had to climb the height equivallent of the twin towers of the former World Trade Centre in New York.

Two ladders were pitched against the side of the Assembly Rooms building in North Street, Chichester, and each team had to cliomb up and down fifty-five times to march the 107-storey towers.

The winners were a team from East Preston, beating Crawley by 21 seconds.
