Flood warning issued

RESIDENTS in low lying areas have been warned of the danger of flooding.

This morning the Environment Agency has issued Flood Watch notices for the River Uck, the upper Ouse and the Cuckmere River.

The warning for the Uck also covers the Framfield, Ridgewood and Tickerage Streams.

The alert for the Ouse covers the river and tributaries from Slaugham in West Sussex to Barcombe Mills and the affected stretch of the Cuckmere is from Vines Cross to Exceat Bridge.

A Flood Watch means flooding of low lying land and roads is expected.

The Environment Agency advises residents to:

*Monitor local news and weather forecasts.

*Be aware of water levels near you.

*Be prepared to act on your flood plan.

*Check on the safety of pets and livestock.

*Charge your mobile phone.
