Fun dog show for new Scout HQ

A family fun dog show is to be held to raise money for the rebuilding of the 9th Bexhill Scout Group Headquarters.

It is a year since fire destroyed the Scout HQ in Wainwright Road and the dog show will be held near the original site to boost funds for the rebuild.

The event will take place on Saturday May 10 - if it rains the show will be held on Sunday May 11 - and will start at 2pm.

Apart from the show itself there will be a cake sale, stalls, raffle and games.

Organiser Fiona Carrick said: "It is a fun family dog show - we are not going to do posh classes. There will be a fancy dress for dogs class, one for best Bexhill resident, dog with best trick, dog with the waggiest tail, and so on."

The judges will be Roy and Louise Hempstead and entries will be taken from 12.30pm on the day, at 1.00 per class.

There will be assorted prizes, including trophies which winners can keep for one year for Dog with most points, Best Cross Bred dog, and Best In Show.
