GALLERY: Storm damage in Worthing and Goring

HIGH winds and heavy rain ripped down fences and knocked down trees across Worthing.

Worthing firefighters called in part time retained crew on Saturday, November 14, to help the 12-man full time team cope with the workload.

Herald readers have sent in their photographs of storm damage.

Becky Sutton went down to Goring beach at 1.30pm on Saturday, and took photographs of damaged beach huts and her mother Gill and brother Matt braving the storm.

Jon Mayes took photographs parked motorbikes which had been knocked over by the wind in Montague Street. His photographs also show fallen trees in Tarring and Goring.

Michael Black-Feather took photographs of fencing blown around a building site in Eirene Road at about 1pm on Saturday afternoon and his own damaged garden fence.

Mark Potter was in town on Saturday afternoon and saw firefighters dealing with a fallen tree in the Montague Centre car park.

Nick Sarjeant filmed huge waves breaking over Worthing Pier before it was closed due to the storm surge.
