Giant pass the parcel to visit Littlehampton

WOOLIES is coming back to Littlehampton for the afternoon, thanks to a four-year-old from Yapton.

Woolworths.co.uk, along with its mascots Stan and Ollie, will include the town on its 10-stop tour of the country, as part of a bid to break the world record for the largest ever pass the parcel.

The website ran a competition last month, asking residents to write in telling bosses why their town should be one of the ten.

A spokeswoman for the site said: “Littlehampton was chosen for this very special visit thanks to a letter written by Natalie Brady, 34, an underwriter from Yapton, on behalf of her four-year-old son, Isaac.”

Isaac’s letter read: “I think Stan and Ollie should visit Littlehampton because my mummy says it doesn’t snow by the sea very much or for a long time like other places in England because it’s too warm, so if they come they might bring the snow here for longer, and we can all have snowball fights and build snowmen just like them.”

The giant parcel, which contains the top-selling toys for Christmas 2010, including Jet Pack Buzz Lightyears, Paper Jamz Guitars and V Tech KidiZoom Video Cameras, some of which will be given away, will be in the High Street at 3.30pm tomorrow (Wednesday, December 1).

Bags of treats will be given away, and the first 100 people there will be given an extra surprise.
