GO AHEAD FOR 6TH FORM CENTRE

Plans for a new sixth form centre at Ringmer Community College have been given the green light by East Sussex County Council.

Lead Cabinet Member for Learning and School Effectiveness, Rupert Simmons, signalled the go-ahead to plans for a new 3.5m vocational sixth form building at the college.

The college was awarded specialist school status when it redesignated as a technology school at the end of 2005.

This meant that it was able to take up a second, vocational specialism in January 2006 and plan to deliver post-16 education on site.
