Green Day for park

A HOST of events will be held in Egerton Park on May 31, as part of 'Green Day'.

The Friends of Egerton Park have organised the initiative to attract more families to the park.

Green Day will be opened by the Town Mayor and Hayley Okines.

It is supported by Rother Children Centres who will bring along their family fun day enclosure.

Community chef, Robin Vancreveld, is aiming to cook up a storm and creating mouthwatering recipes. Sponsorship will come from Bexhill Round Table.

County council experts will be giving cycling proficiency tasters to any youngsters who are wearing approved safety gear.

An educational talk about the history of the park and Bexhill Museum is to be presented by education officer Kerry Honeysett.

A music marquee will host morris dancing, visiting performers and poetry from Alvin Culzac.

An aromatherapsit will also be hand to offer advice.

Stalls will be selling plants, bulbs and flowers.

Information will also be provided on recycling and sustainable living.

Stall holders from the Bexhill Farmers Market are selling their wares, and local wine and beer will be on sale.

Bexhill Scouts will be, 'Shouting for Scouting'.

The Friends of Egerton Park would like to invite members of the public to bring along photographs of Egerton Park for possible inclusion in a fund raising calendar next year.
