The Neighbourhood Planning Committee: meets on Monday 14 March at 7.30 pm in the Pavilion. I am sure they will be hoping that by then a Planning Consultant will have been appointed to take the Plan forward to examination and ever closer to the point when we can vote on it! Before then, however, there will be an opportunity to attend a public exhibition and workshop to learn more about what has been included in the Plan. As I keep saying, please do go along to these meetings if you can, but certainly please do go to the exhibition which I am certain will be very well advertised; all this work has been for our benefit and we need it in place to try and stop the over development of the village and Parish as a whole.
Scam: It would appear that residents of Sussex have been falling victim to scammers from so-called ‘Tech Support’ from Microsoft. If you receive a call from anyone who says there is a problem with your computer and if you provide certain information, they can resolve these problems DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! Microsoft will never contact you in this way and if you do give them access to your computer and you use it for your banking, it could have serious consequences for you and your bank account could be raided. If you are unsure of anything or anyone, ask them for their number and say you will call them back; if they aren’t prepared to do so, it is certainly a scam; if they do, leave it for a while before calling back. Alternatively, take their number and call 101 as speak to the Police who will be able to advise you.

Hide AdWI: You may recall that the Women’s Institute that used to meet on a Monday afternoon has closed but there is another Institute in the village that meets in the evening and the next meeting of this (WI@Handcross) will be meeting on Wednesday, 16 March from 7.30 pm in the Parish Hall. At this month’s meeting the theme is knitting, in particular knitting squares. Val Hibbs will be taking along and sharing some different patterns for members and guests to try; don’t worry if you are not very good, there will be more than a few members who will be happy to help in any way. If you have any no. 8 needles (sorry, I don’t know the metric equivalent!) and any bits and bobs of spare wool, please do take them along. There will also be details of various courses that the West Sussex Federation are running which members can go along to; all the more reason to take yourself off to the Parish Hall next Wednesday evening!
Earlier in the day: on the 16th the Rosemary Club will be holding their Fund Raising meeting in the Parish Hall from 2.30 pm. It is their annual Bring and Buy Sale so if you have any items in good condition that you no longer want or need, take them along and see if you can replace them! As always, this is open to everyone and it will cost you the grand sum of £1 to attend and for that you will get a tea of homemade sandwiches, tea and cakes and, as it is so close to Easter, a hot cross bun as well! If you are at a loose end or are looking to make new friends, by going to these meetings are ideal! If you would like to speak to someone before going along, please call Helen on 400643 or Joan on 01293 525890 and they will be able to help.
