Hindu day for pupils

CHILDREN at Meridian Primary School, Peacehaven, had the most exotic day when they rounded off their study of Hinduism.

The year three and four children have been focusing on the religion learning about different gods, life after death, Hindu beliefs and contrasting it with their own lives.

There was also a geographical focus on India as one of the largest Hindu countries.

The girls wore saris and the boys wore dotis and took part in a number of activities.

A yoga teacher showed them some moves, they used henna, listened to Indian music and ate Indian food. Teacher Soo Miller said: 'They have been having a fantastic time and it has been a very popular choice of topic.'
