Hopes for village sports area

A scheme has been drawn up for a 593 square metre sports area immediately next to Herstmonceux Primary School and on the boundary of an existing recreation ground.

Thanks to funds totalling 50,000 from East Sussex County Council and a Big Lottery grant the all-weather area will serve both the school itself and the wider community.

It will be big enough for small team games and training and offer a range of different surfaces for sport and outdoor activities.

Plans and details are being displayed in the primary school and parish council offices.

Wealden District and Herstmonceux Parish councils will be consulted before the final decision is given.
