horrific mobile attack

The 34-year-old victim was attacked as he walked along Worthing seafront at 8.30pm on Friday.

He was approached by a man in his early 20s who asked the victim for the time and then demanded he hand over his phone.

There was a scuffle when the victim refused and the offender slashed his cheek, causing a 3in cut.

Mobile phone muggings have been hitting the national news recently. Tougher sentencing powers are being introduced for courts to deal with the thieves.
