Hunt for foster parents begins in Littlehampton

West Sussex County Council is appealing for more people to come forward as foster carers, particularly for teenagers and older children.

As part of the council’s latest appeal, members of the authority’s fostering team will be at Littlehampton Library, in Maltravers Road, on Wednesday (August 20) from 10am to 4pm.

They will be on hand to answer questions and provide an insight into what being a foster carer involves.

Debbie Kennard, county council deputy cabinet member for children – start of life, said: “There are many reasons that children may come into our care and fostering can be both short or long term, ranging from just a few days to several years.

“We can’t underestimate the difference foster carers can make to the lives of our looked-after children and young people.

“They do a tremendous job and I would urge anyone who is thinking about fostering to pop along to Littlehampton Library and find out more.”
