Jess set to take top study course

Senior dance student Jess Smith of the Art of Dance and Fitness in South Bersted, has won a place at the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom.

Jess (17) beat off stiff competition and was awarded a full-time place to study musical theatre dance and drama.

Laine Theatre Arts only accepts 80 students a year and more than 2,000 hopefuls auditioned for this year's places.

Jess hopes to follow in the footsteps of past Laine students such as Ruthie Henshall, Ben Richards and Victoria Beckham.

She is continuing to work towards her professional dance examinations at the Art of Dance and Fitness, on Bersted Street, until July.
