Kitchen fire in Rye

Firefighters were called to a flat in Rye to tackle a kitchen fire in the earlier hours of this morning (July 12).

Crews attended the incident at a ground floor flat in The Mint at around 6am.

No-one was reported to have been injured in the fire.

The flames were extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation fan.
