Lightning causes railway chaos

COMMUTERS faced a rush hour nightmare thanks to a different kind of rail strike, after lightning hit a signal box.

Trains were delayed and some services were cancelled after a bolt of lightning struck a signal box near Lancing railway station, at 5.40am yesterday.

Passengers were delayed for up to an hour, with some having to stand in the pouring rain with no idea how long their wait would be.
