Long-service awards to Arundel firefighters

Mark Dunham, firestation commander at Arundel, was awarded a long-service and good-conduct medal by the Lord Lieutenant of West Sussex last week.

Mark originally joined Warwickshire Fire Brigade in 1983 and served in the little village of Middle Tysoe.

However, in 1986 he transferred to West Sussex Fire Brigade, based initially in Arundel and moving to Littlehampton on his marriage in 1989.

In the intervening years Mark moved back and forth between the two towns until returning to Arundel permanently to run his father's business.

In 1998 he became station commander in his present base at Arundel Fire Station.

A keen cricketer, Mark has represented West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service on many occasions.
