Michelham Priory visit for Charters Ancaster

Children from years 3 & 4 at Charters Ancaster enjoyed a visit to Michelham Priory.

They marvelled at the blacksmith making a fire poker in traditional fashion which he then donated to the school.

The children toured the beautiful historic grounds viewing the 40ft well and herb gardens. After lunch they explored the watermill and the rest of the country house viewing the rich tapestries and period furniture.

Whilst inside the Priory the children experienced life as Augustinian Friars & Cannons before finishing the day by dressing as authentic Tudor ladies and gentleman.

Teacher Mrs. Moore said "The visit helped the children to understand Tudor Life which is part of their class work and gave them an insight intohowlife has changedover the years."
