Netherfield Village Stores and Post Office Cafe and Coffee House: I am sure that even the most casual observer can’t help but have noticed the changes that are taking place at this community “hotspot”. The folding doors are on, shedding the first rays of light onto what will be the “in” place to be seen in the not too distant future. I have been reliably informed that “Lemon Drizzle Cake” was a winner in the tasting session and this promises to feature strongly on the menu to be presented to all the patrons of this local “Drink and Dine” establishment. Watch this space for further updates on the opening date.

Pussy said to the Owl, “You elegant fowl! /

How charmingly sweet you sing! /

But I’ve heard enough, the sea is rough /

This boat is capsizing! /

They sailed away, for a year and a day, /

To the land where the Bong-tree grows /

And there, dead ahead in a rickety shed /

Was a pig selling rings and warm clothes/

Warm clothes, /

Battle Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group: The latest meeting of the BNPSG took place at The Almonry on Wednesday 20 January. Amongst other issues the date for printing the planned community “Survey” was discussed. The workload of the group has increased as the members strive to meet the milestones which are so important in keeping the momentum of the “Plan” on track. At the end of the day, it is all the readers of this paper and the community as a whole, who will decide how the next 25 years and beyond in the Parish, will look.
