New pub trail 2011

FOLLOWING the success of the 2010 Pub Trail, family brewers Hall and Woodhouse Ltd have launched their 2011 version. A total of 46 pubs across the county are included in the booklet and customers are encouraged to visit a number of pubs and collect a stamp in order to receive a gift.

The 2010 Pub Trail was held across two counties; Sussex and Dorset and the trails generated more than 3,000 visits, more than 200 booklets were ordered from the website www.pub-trail.co.uk alone.

Last year’s trail happened in the winter months and only offered a gift for visiting 10 or 20 pubs. However, the 2011 trail started on April 18 and lasts until September 30 and offers more gifts. For visiting five pubs customers receive a branded draw string bag, for 10 pubs they receive a branded polo shirt and for 20 pubs they receive a premium branded rugby shirt.

Lyta Fry, business partner at the Kings Arms in Horsham, said: “Last year’s Pub Trail was a great initiative from the brewery, it helped drive customers to our pub, most of which enjoyed a meal as well as the drink they needed in order to receive a gift.

“This year’s Pub Trail is improved from last year, with more prizes being offered and the chance to hit the tourist trade so I am sure it will help support our business even further than last year’s trail.”

Booklets are distributed in the pubs, in the local Tourist Information Centres and via the website www.pub-trail.co.uk.
