'New road plans will only make it worse'

A call to scrap both the A27 and A24 road schemes has come from an anit-road building lobby group, which believes they would intensify traffic rather than reduce congestion.

A new study from the Campaign to Protect Rural England and the Countryside Agency highlights how the infamous Newbury bypass failed by generating massive traffic. The South Coast Against Roadbuilding fears a similar thing could happen in West Sussex if works on the A27 are carried out.
