Horticultural Society: Andrew Halstead will speak to the Society today (Friday) on Wasps and Bumble Bees. The meeting starts at 2.30pm in the Village Hall, and we are assured of an interesting talk. If you haven’t thought of joining the Society yet, now is the time! As well as a variety of interesting talks through the winter months, there are Spring and Autumn Shows and a huge Plant Sale in May, and membership entitles you to discount in many local nurseries and suppliers. The Spring Show will be on 28th March, so time to start planning!

Badminton: The badminton clubs meet on Fridays in the Pretious Sports Hall – Juniors from 5.30pm (please call Pete Thomson 07815 842517 to check whether there are any spaces). Adults meet at 8.30pm on Fridays and 5.45pm on Mondays, and both adult clubs will be pleased to see new faces – just turn up.

Women’s Fellowship: All our usual groups took January off, so I’m sure everyone will be keen to catch up on news at Women’s Fellowship on Tuesday afternoon in the Church Centre. Ruth Glew will demonstrate the art of decorative eggs – just in time for Lent (which seems to be almost upon us!). If you would like to join, just pop along at 2pm, or call Frances – 253152 - for more information.

Hist & Lit: Richard Atkins will speak to the Historical and Literary Society on the topic of Spitfire Women – the heroic exploits of women pilots ferrying and delivering Spitfires and other aircraft across the dangerous wartime skies. The meeting starts at 7.30pm in the Village Hall on Tuesday evening.
