Open evening for food counselling

"We will not be discussing how much you weigh. We will not be asking you to disclose what you eat. There will not be a pair of scales in sight."

That's the promise made by counsellors Su Kennedy and Lisa Barker who are setting up a group for women who want to explore food issues and find out why they are eating too much.

The groups are aimed at women aged over 18, who are struggling to lose weight, trying to maintain weight loss, or who are fearful of regaining weight.

This is an opportunity to discuss feelings and concerns, and find out what triggers comfort eating, and how to use techniques and strategies to manage emotions in a different way.

An open evening will be held on Tuesday May 13 from 7.15-8.45pm so that anyone interested can find out more before deciding to join the group itself.

The event will take place at Sidley Baptist Church, Christian Beacon Centre, Claremont road.

"We would really like to meet you, to tell you more about the groups and for you to have the opportunity to meet us personally. During the evening you will also have the opportunity to book a place in the group.
