Opening date revealed for The Ivy in the Lanes

An exclusive restaurant chain has announced it will open its new restaurant in Brighton next month.

The Ivy in the Lanes will open its doors to the public on Wednesday, May 2, but bookings can be made from today (April 12).

To celebrate the announcement, the resturant provided a unique experience for eight hungry members of Brighton Swimming Club – by serving up breakfast in the sea.

The swimmers were served by The Ivy in the Lanes waiters after an early morning dip in what the company said was 'a dining experience that echoes the city’s eccentric charm'.

The Ivy in the Lanes at 51 Ship Street is set to offer all-day dining, seven days a week, from dawn until dusk.

Inside, the walls will be decorated with Brighton-inspired artwork, including pieces depicting the pier, sea life and Brighton beach, set against a backdrop of leather banquettes, an onyx bar and pendant lighting.

The new restaurant will have 240 covers and a private dining room for up to 20 people.
