They also help with obtaining help from 4Sight for any equipment, talking books, and so on, and can also help with letter writing.

More general helpers/car drivers are needed to collect one or two members, bring them to club and return them home.

Drivers are requested to use their own vehicle but mileage allowance will be paid.

You will need a clean driving licence and the ability to get on with people, so patient with a good sense of humour and willingness to help people.

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea; they provide, on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service and a seasonal lifeguard service.

There are various volunteer roles available at the Boathouse in Littlehampton; for example acting as a guide to visitors (for groups from schools and other organisations), educating people about the work of the RNLI, making sure that promotional materials are up-to-date and in good supply, and getting involved in fundraising activities/events and managing collection boxes in the area.

If you are over-18 and passionate about the work of the RNLI then they would love to hear from you.

The Laurels is a specialist day centre for people with long term or complex social care needs.

Offering people a wide range of activities and respite; the service is aimed at people with a physical, sensory or memory impairment and people with an acquired brain injury.

They are looking for volunteers to assist and support clients in a range of activities such as art, cooking, computers, gardening, pottery and crafts.

Good communication skills and patience are required and cooking and gardening skills would be a bonus.

The Voice of Progress, Littlehampton and Worthing’s Talking Newspaper for the Blind and Partially Sighted, require a volunteer who could give a little of their time in the role of an outreach officer.

The prospective volunteer would be working with a small team of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers whose aim is to produce high quality recorded news relevant to the target audience. It is very rewarding and something that their listener’s value.

The amount of time that the outreach officer would be required to work would be up to them and would be dictated by the initiatives that are being worked on at the time.

Travelling in the local area may be required on an occasional basis and any expenses incurred would be refunded.

They are looking for someone who is able to work on their own, is proactive and is capable of helping to develop and nurture the listenership into the future.
