An ode to town’s Christmas lights

Just before November ends

Valiant bands of volunteers,

Ladders readily ascend,

Hanging lights of joy and cheer.

How this ancient market town

Lends itself to festive times

Dickens costumes,

Warm mulled wine.

Late night shopping, gifts to buy

Carol singing, hot mince pies.

So come, enjoy the wondrous sights

Of Battle’s twinkling Christmas lights.
