Cameras to solve crossing problem

In response to your article on the Roundstone level crossing (Gazette, October 30), I think that there is a good solution to the problem.

If enforcement cameras can be used to enforce the speed limits, to penalise motorists misusing bus lanes or stopping in box junctions, etc., then why can't they be used at the crossing to fine motorists who routinely ignore the give-way signs on either side of the crossing?

I am sure that they would do it only once.

After receiving a ticket, perhaps they would be reminded that "give way" on a road sign applies to them even if they haven't taken the trouble to look down at the road markings that also clearly indicate the road priority.
